Sealbox

The client folder disappears.Sealbox is the copy you still have.

Offsite copies of work folders in Dropbox and Google Drive — encrypted so Sealbox can’t read them at rest. Not sync. Not another drive.

Dropbox first.Drive next.Weekly points, 30-day window.

Example vault — synthetic work folders, not a real restore.
  • Your work, not your whole life

Only the folders you choose. Client work — not a photo dump.

  • Encrypted so we can’t read it at rest

Public-key wrap. Ciphertext at rest. No forgot-phrase door on our side.

  • Restore like a drive, not a zip

Open a restore point, browse folders, download the file you need.

Works with Dropbox Google Drive

Four steps. No native app required.

  1. 1

    Create your account

We generate a recovery phrase. You write it down and type it back. We can’t show it again.

  2. 2

    Connect Dropbox

OAuth to your own Dropbox. Choose the folders that are actually your work.

  3. 3

    We copy, then wrap

A worker fetches those files, wraps them with your public key, stores ciphertext. At rest, Sealbox has nothing that decrypts your work.

  4. 4

    Unlock only when it matters

Sign-in does not open the vault. Enter the recovery phrase in the browser, pick a restore point, get the file.

We don’t read your files at rest.

We do claim

  • Ciphertext only in storage.
  • Public-key wrap; the recovery phrase unwraps the private key in the browser.
  • The phrase is not uploaded to Sealbox.
  • Filenames live in the encrypted manifest.
  • We cannot reset the phrase. We cannot open the vault for you.

Be honest

  • During the backup job, a worker may see source bytes — then persists ciphertext.
  • A stolen live Dropbox or Drive session still exposes the live source.
  • Lose the phrase → the offsite copy is gone with it. That’s the trade.

Your account password is not the vault key. Your recovery phrase is. We never store that phrase.

Who it’s for

For you if

Your work lives in folders you own in Dropbox or Drive; you’re solo; you’d restore yourself; you want insurance, not another sync toy.

Not for you if

You need IT to restore for a team; Shared drives / team Dropbox; unlimited photo/life backup; you need us to recover a forgotten phrase.

Priced like insurance for a work corpus — not a warehouse for your life.

You’re buying an offsite copy of chosen folders under a live ceiling — enough for client work, not a race with unlimited PC backup on $/GB.

FAQ

Is this sync?
No. Sync mirrors the mistake. Sealbox is a periodic offsite copy with restore points.
Can Sealbox read my files?
Not at rest. Workers may see bytes while copying, then store ciphertext. Unlock needs your recovery phrase in the browser.
What if I lose the recovery phrase?
We can’t help. No reset. Treat it like a hardware-key backup.
Why not just rely on Dropbox/Drive?
Same place you edit isn’t offsite. Account loss and sync-gone-wrong are the point.
Google Drive?
Dropbox first. Drive next. Same product shape.
Team plan?
Not this product. One person, one phrase.
Unlimited storage?
No — live ceiling on chosen folders on purpose. Work corpus, not camera roll.
Is this for bills/email?
No. Sealbox is offsite insurance for work folders.

When the folder’s gone, “I thought sync was enough” doesn’t pay the invoice.

Put an encrypted offsite copy behind the work that feeds you.

Encrypted offsite copies of Google Drive and Dropbox. Sealbox can’t read your files at rest.
